John Sheirer is a Northampton, Massachusetts, author whose works include memoir, fiction, poetry, essays, political satire, and photography. His most recent book is “Stumbling Through Adulthood,” is a collection of linked stories.
For more than 30 years, John has taught writing and communications for at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, Connecticut, where he also serves as editor and faculty advisor for “Freshwater Literary Journal.” John also writes a monthly column on current events for the Western Massachusetts newspaper the “Daily Hampshire Gazette.”

A primary goal of the program is to reduce opioid overdose fatality by 40% over 3 years in urban and rural areas across four states, including MA. Alyssa is joined by Anna Martin and Randy Gratton, who are also working with the HEALing Communities Study.

On Monday, October 10, 2022, Brad’s father, Paul R. Turner, passed away at the age of 84 years.
In this short episode, after reading the obituary, Brad recites a poem that his father used to read to him as a child, “The Cremation of Sam McGee,” by Robert W. Service.
